Its a 800 hp "?" supercharged v8. Why is that a slap in the face to Chrysler? You have to understand gear ratios to understand squeezing 21mpg out of that motor is damn impressive. Even if it is another Chrysler piece of shit.

because with an 8 speed (typically 1-6 will be pulling/driving gears) 7 and 8 are cruising/OD. I am willing to bet (never once looked up anything hellcat so bare with me on this) that in 8th gear @ say 70mph that car should be under 2k rpm's.

the blower isnt even boosting, and the car is just above idle. it should get more then 21mpg's unless chrysler failed yet again and the car really weight 1K lb's more then what they stated it weights and in this case the mpg it does get really makes sense...

I am also willing to bet that car has cylinder deactivation ( i believe it has it for valet parking) so its even more of a "youre kidding me, right" thing when you see things like 8 speed/ 4 cylinders less and 21 mpg's.

Doesn't make sense if it runs on 4 cyl's during highway driving and only gets 21. Seems it probably runs all 8, just lowers rpm from the higher gears.

I'm not much of a muscle car guy, but it's interesting to see how these manufacturers are starting to try and get the 'best of both worlds' when it comes to high performance V8's.

not production

and if you do want to go that route, mopar has them beat with their 1200-1300hp race block hemi cars.

the big news was the fact that it gets over 20mpg, fyi.

The only difference between the Hellcat and Supersnake is that the SS goes through Ford and Shelby.
Either way you are buying them straight from a dealer and with a warranty.

Well, I guess there is other differences, such as the Supersnake being all around better than the Hellcat.
