It's a 70/30 split down here. 4wd is completely unnecessary here unless you intend to go off road but lots of people buy them anyway. Lots of the drw trucks are 2wd because it's all hwy. The 2wd has a lot of advantages as a dodge. Rack and pinion steering, IFS, waaaayyyy fewer front end issues in general. With good shocks they actually ride quite well. The 4wd trucks ride like an ox cart. My truck has 110k and no steering wheel, wheel bearing, or suspension play. It gets better mileage too. The black book clean trade in is 18k. Nada retail is 27.5k. I'm ready to pick up a 12 or 13 silverado 1500.

Nah driving big rigs right now, but I'm going to start poking around for an apprenticeship as steamfitter/pipefitter/welder or similar soon.
Right now Im making between 400-600 a day working 20/10 so I dont mind but I want a trade, any fat redneck can drive a truck, I want something more.

Edit: Anyone any of these trades that can share some insight?

If it makes you feel better any fat redneck can be a pipefitter/welder/steamfitter. Not a good one though
