CLA > C Class IMO. It just looks better. If you're looking to spend ~45k on a car, then cough up 5k or so more and get the CLA45 AMG basic model.

Of those, I'd get the 328i 2014 model (Don't get lower ones)

A4 is crap, man up and get A5/S5 or dont get audi

No one who is informed thinks an A4 is crap. What makes it worse is when you think a CLA is better. The A4 is 100x better than any CLA. The CLA is a bastardization of a Mercedes. Looks good but that's about it. It's got cheap everything, cheap interior cheap handling cheap drive.

Eh.. There's are reason why these 3 are always compared. they are so similar yet so different and the quality among them is so equal it's uncanny.


but in my opinion..

BMW 3 > Audi A4 > MB C-class
Audi A6 > BMW 5 > MB E-class
MB S-Class > Audi A8 = BMW 7

I think you are giving a very bias opinion here. Nothing wrong with that, but you should know the pure reason why merc brought the CLA to life, and that was PURELY to cut into the market of CHEAP ENTRY LEVEL sedan/coupes to out compete audi and BMW. Because of that, do you really think they are going to give you the same quality that goes into thier S and E class? lets be real C class Mercs are dare I say it, domestic interior quality at best...




I partially agree. i think Audi was doing it right mid to later 2000's (looks and interior quality) and with the F chasis from BMW they are better in terms of quality/looks overall when looking at non Performance (RS and ///M cars) entry level cars.

Mercedes got turbo lag for days in their Turbo engines.. Unless its a high end AMG..Even the CLA45 AMG has turbo lag.. CLA250 is horrible tho. Handles like crap too. And the interior doesnt even compare to audi unless its an AMG model.

Audi A4 = A5.. Same engine and shit, just ones a coupe form..So the above statement is useless.

Thew new F30 3 series have stepped up since last gen.. Personally I wouldn't buy a BMW unless it was a 335i M Sport at minimum.. More of an Audi guy myself. Plan on getting a slightly used Audi S4 when time comes..No need new when they're pretty reliable cars.

Plus.. If you're being cost conscientious.. Audi all the way. They cost FAR LESS then both the BMW and Benz to maintain. And the aftermarket is far greater.

Honestly.. Get the Audi OP... A4/A5 or even the new A3 with the 2.0 Quattro is really nice.

Ive never owned an Audi, but have plenty of friends that own them, from base models to RS and R8's; Directly from them, They are more then they thought in upkeep/maintenance. Ive only Owned M cars my entire life and tell everyone the same thing.

I would put ~1200 a year into savings because that is what it costs me, between fluid changes and simple maintenance to tires and brakes (I track my car) I know this is kind of silly at this point but lets face it, these arent civics, or pennies to the dollar american cars, so they wont be cheap to keep on the road.

Base Audi's aren't so bad. They're not too much more than Volkswagens (A Q7 doesn't cost any more to fix than a Touraeg). It's when you get into the sport models that the maintenance starts to pile up. I was looking at a 2013 RS5 my friend (runs a dealership) is about to get on trade and while the price isn't bad (around 80), the maintenance is ridiculous (between $2000-3000 CND for brakes). If someone is going to an Audi from an American or Japanese "luxury" brand, of course it'll be a surprise but really Audi maintenance isn't too far off VW parts and maintenance. And like someone else said, Audi aftermarket is pretty good and easy to find.
