Fairly certain youre friend must be a double amputee if its a bumper to bumper race. The 5.0 stock walks challengers, and I know this for a fact because ive done it.

Still a semi decent car, boats just dont appeal to me though. At least the hellcat seems decent.

The 392 is a dead even race with them most of the time. The R/T and the older SRT-8 are probably what you are thinking of.

With the deletes being pushed back yet again for the 13+ cummins i decided to trade in the 3/4 ton on a challenger. Been a long time since I built a gas job but this should turn out to be a fun project... i hope.

Haven't decided the exact route I'll be going with the car yet. It will have forced induction of some sort. There isn't any real quality packages that i've seen for these cars which is a plus in my book. Watching Andy work on his 240 as well as a few other throwback projects on the web has finally pushed me off the fence to do a full fab build on a gasser.

Details:
2013 Challenger srt8. 392 hemi and a tr-6060 :(

Things that I am certain of are no spray and still street worthy.
With the baby girl coming very shortly i've vowed not to start on the project right now. Planning to start diving in mid winter.

End goal as of now: Break into the 9's with this boat on slicks and maybe get lucky and run a 13 with these stock tires <_< Still don't understand the reasoning of 245's being on a 470bhp car....

Why the frown face behind the TR-6060? That's as good of an engine and trans combo as you can get from Dodge. Throw a really nice clutch in it and procharge it. I don't know what to tell you about the tires though. Will anything bigger than 275's fit out back? I don't know enough about these tanks.

That sticks out a bit much for my taste but that might be what it takes to get it to hook up.

It has 245's out back. 0-60 doesn't amount to shit. That's only the first 330 feet or so. Edmunds got a 12.6@112 out of it spinning like a mofo. It makes up it's time on the top end of the track. With good tires I think they go 12.3's with the auto. Boat it may be but it has 470hp.

like posted you can run up to a 315 with an offset of a brodozer.

Nothing past a 285 without sticking out of the fender line or tubbing the car.

The tr-6060 isnt a bad transmission. Basically a step above the t56. Really didnt want to tear into anything past the clutch but odds are i will have to end up going the viper spec route.

Lastly, he has both legs, and drives very well. Not my fault 95% of challenger owners cant drive and make the slow car look slower. I completely shit on a buddy's new c7 with this car. Just because he can't drive doesnt mean my car is faster than a c7... But then again. Obvious points are obvious.

The 6060 shouldn't need any internal upgrades. There is no such thing as a bulletproof manual though. Once you are making big power it's going to break eventually.

One missed shift at wot will take apart any manual trans regardless of hows its built. Since the clutch will get replaced regardless i'll be right there. I might as well go ahead and build the trans itself as well. Who knows what the motor will end up to be down the road. I'd like to hit 700hp at the wheels. Since i don't have diesels to eat away at all my pocket change i can afford to build this car the right way the first time and enjoy it for more than a pass down the track.

There aren't many internal upgrades for the 6060 that increase power holding ability. The few parts you can have put in it increase longevity. They can hold big power if you put a fluid pump on it spraying the headset and don't miss shifts under power. LMR's 2500hp standing mile camaro had a 6060 in it.
