Fairly certain youre friend must be a double amputee if its a bumper to bumper race. The 5.0 stock walks challengers, and I know this for a fact because ive done it.
Still a semi decent car, boats just dont appeal to me though. At least the hellcat seems decent.
The 392 is a dead even race with them most of the time. The R/T and the older SRT-8 are probably what you are thinking of.

With the deletes being pushed back yet again for the 13+ cummins i decided to trade in the 3/4 ton on a challenger. Been a long time since I built a gas job but this should turn out to be a fun project... i hope.
Haven't decided the exact route I'll be going with the car yet. It will have forced induction of some sort. There isn't any real quality packages that i've seen for these cars which is a plus in my book. Watching Andy work on his 240 as well as a few other throwback projects on the web has finally pushed me off the fence to do a full fab build on a gasser.

Things that I am certain of are no spray and still street worthy.
With the baby girl coming very shortly i've vowed not to start on the project right now. Planning to start diving in mid winter.
End goal as of now: Break into the 9's with this boat on slicks and maybe get lucky and run a 13 with these stock tires

Still don't understand the reasoning of 245's being on a 470bhp car....
Why the frown face behind the TR-6060? That's as good of an engine and trans combo as you can get from Dodge. Throw a really nice clutch in it and procharge it. I don't know what to tell you about the tires though. Will anything bigger than 275's fit out back? I don't know enough about these tanks.
