You have to be one hell of a rider to actually see a difference. You may find out the heavier bike you are not as fast.....
I've seen pro's on big wheel 80's keep up and pass C and D class riders on 500's.
Remember its all about the rider.....
The 300 2 stroke he has is already a fatboy bike haha. Over here in the east a lot of quick guys run the 200 and 250cc ktm's because they are 15lbs lighter. The 300 is tits though if you like to ride a gear high and keep the rpm's low tractoring around. The power delivery is adjustable too.
Personally i wouldn't upgrade to go too a 4 stroke. There is so much more maintenance... i mean it's a ktm, parts fall off all of the time, but the four stroke has more parts.
