I'll go with the VR6, for the burble, and not having to replace a damn timing belt that is behind the motor mounts every 80-100k (don't forget about the water pump while you're at it!)

um.... the chain's (they have 2) on a vr6 needs to be changed around 100k miles as well, and you have to drop the transmission to do it.
thats not really a great point to look at when comparing the 2 lol

seeing that the cost for both of them are beater level, i'll go with the VR6 plainly on the fact that the tone they let out is amazing, and the fact that there are still first gen vr6 VWs from the early 90s putting around strong.

The 1.8t I always hated, those fucking turbos burn oil the fuck up.
