That paint is going to be insanely expensively. I wouldn't change colors period without doing the jambs/bay though tbh. Unless it was a vinyl wrap.

That was the point of staying with a silver. The engine compartment of these cars are barely painted as is. It varies from car to car and it's just basecoat. I'm not trying for a show quality paint job.

The limited info i've found online shows the paint being about 2x the price of ppg etc. That's not too bad. I'm waiting on his material quote to make a decision. The labor is what makes it so expensive. I'm paying a fraction of that if i help him do the prep at his house.

My backup plan is cyber grey metallic but i really want to stay lighter so the jambs/bay don't look retarded.

I think that first color would indeed look good on a ws6. I wish it was a tad bit darker as I love a dark grey ws6. I don't think with a color like that painting the jams would be needed.

So I got the materials quote. The engineer at BASF told him that the higher end PPG clear coat will work with their base coat. The base coat was $450/gal. That isn't terrible. All in all the materials would run just under a grand.

But he won't spray it. He has never used anything like it before and he said he wasn't willing to waste $1000 in material if he fucked it up. The guy he talked to at BASF gave him a quick rundown on the process for laying that color correctly and he isn't willing to try it. I'm a bit disappointed but at least he is honest. I'm not willing to pay the quote I got from another shop in the area to do the entire job. Using my materials price they quoted me $5800. I paid $5850 for the car lol.

Now I have to decide if I want to go with my backup plan and paint the car a darker silver/grey or paint the front and rear bumper covers the OEM Sebring Silver Metallic. It's not an eye catching color by any means but it never looks dirty lol. There are only 1823 SSM WS6 T/A's in existence. Fun fact I learned looking up paint codes...

I should know what I'm going to do by the time I get off of nights Tuesday morning. I'm scouring the interwebs for fog light and turn signal housings atm.

Just paint it factory and put some high end rims/tires on with the money you'll save.

If I buy wheels and tires it will be for my truck. Those fugly C5 Z06 reps will stay on there unless I stub my toe on some CCW's. The truck will need tires by the end of this year and I don't want to buy another set for the stock plastic chrome wheels.
