Meh, the resale value on an old 3 series like that is probably no more than $2k in average condition. One good mechanical failure and it is totaled because of the price of parts. If I were you I would clean it up and put it up for $2800. You might find a sucker but I'm sure you could get $2k for it and make a quick buck.

Yea and if I don't get any bites I can sell it to my buddy and profit a couple hundred at least. Or turn it into a beater and beat the snot out of it.

These are notorious for fucking rusting on the rockers and they look pretty clean on your car.
Like someone else said before, detail and flip.

Worst case scenario, you turn it into a missile and run it to the ground.

I offroaded a buick century that I got for $300. That was up there with the most fun I've had in a vehicle. We jumped it, hillclimbed, all kinds of shit. Finally toasted the trans but it took a lot of abuse.

Finding decent cars for 500$ that need a head gasket then trashing them is fun, we had 3-4 at one point at my buddy's dance and that was insane, we would race around the pond hahaha and the. Tried to jump them over shit.
