I was pit crew on a civic than ran high 10's with 6500 invested. You guys are doing it wrong.
That's a bit outrageous. My CRV used to make STi's run for their money. STI's run 13's stock, no?
No. Well, depends on the year.
You do realize 1 car length at around 100mph trap is about 3 tenths right? If you were at their back bumper you could be in the low 14's.
He has almost a full second to gain by getting the 60 foot time down to 2.0. That is about where it should be with street tires and a good driver. That puts him in the mid 12's. He has another 3-4 tenths and 5-6mph to gain from better shifting.
Oh wait, you crewed on a car that ran 10's. Serious bizness. It didn't have street tires on it either did it? Big difference. I 60ft 1.9-2.0 in f-bodies on a hard tire. Bolt on a drag radial and i can go 1.7's. This is on stock suspension with no other changes. That is 6 tenths difference in the 1/4.
