Do you also have an all wheel drive car for the winters?  Being in Quebec first car I'd consider is a Subaru.

You don't need an all wheel drive just because you get snow in the winter, just learn to drive jesus christ.

That's like all the guys in Northern US complain about all the snow and ice they get and that they NEED an all wheel drive car, it's a load of shenanigans.

Yeah unless you live within mountain passes out west it's not necessary.

4wd isn't necessary to drive in mud, but it sure as hell adds a reliability factor to it.

tl;dr don't buy bare minimum options if you don't have to

Sure if you live in mountain passes but other than that you don't need it.

I live in a big valley and drive my beater camaro all winter and do fine, we have plenty of steep hills around here too

So if someone wants to buy a moped you tell them to get a hayabusa just because you shouldnt go with bare minimums ?

If you need an awd car on maintenanced roads simply learn to drive. Coming from someone who lives in northern finland :)

Yes...because the difference between awd and 2wd cars is the same as the difference between a 1300cc motorcycle and a 50cc scooter.

And like the old saying goes....I'd rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

Ofcourse its not the same. Wasnt even supposed to be. Its just just as stupid.

99% of the time op wont need awd so He's just gonna be burning more fuel etc which was a factor for him. And if he feels he doesnt need awd he prolly doesn't really need it. Hes the one that lives there after all right?

Sure awd is nice and all but its not really a "must"

Google straw man fallacy...realize how wrong you are.

and why are you arguing like i said he NEEDED it?

I said it's a useful feature that should be considered if it's in the price range.

anyone that says you don't NEED awd may be right, but they also probably haven't been stuck on a hill for 2 hours trying to get up when the snow gets packed down and even more slippery. Good ole times in the formula, normally wouldn't have driven that car in the snow but it snowed mid way through my work day and they wouldn't let me leave early to switch vehicles.
