This could be. But coming from a old friend In school I'd hardly doubt he'd lie to me. I think. He showed me pics of the tear down. If it was rotted out I dont think he would have went that far to do what all he did.

Yeah you are pretty much right. I work on Dodges and Chevs all the time, and help my friends out with their own import cars and find that they do the stupidest crap some times.
