100% of my vehicles make a chattering
type noise when it's freezing out and I start it.

Going to go with : what is thick cold oil ?

I live in Texas. Its like 80 out right now :l

Agreed with can't go wrong with replacing O2 sensor and going from there. Pretty sure something else is up too though, and to buy all 4x O2 sensors and replace myself is near 500$... was looking for a cheaper way out :/

e: Actually, wonder if I can take it somewhere where they have the fancy obd2, can they see which o2 sensor is bad?

The code should be specific to the bad sensor no?

My plane Jane one did;;. Bank 1 sensor 1 was my bad one. In the exhaust manifold.

The code should indicate which sensor is bad. For reference the only o2's that can effect how the engine runs are the upstream o2's. Also know as pre catalytic converter.

And this should be needless to say, but no not buy cheap sensors. Get top of the line or oem prefered.

And Bosch is on the cheap list. Most people seem to think they are good.

They do however make great (and quiet) dishwashers. But the Bosch Jet tronic on my car leaves a bit to be desired. :D

From what I've herd they work with older model vehicles. Honda's and stuff like that. And constant issues with newer more picky vehicles.

I spent the $120 on oem from the stealership and haven't touched it , probably never will again. Unless she goes to 400k

Bosch o2's are inconsistent. I run NTK's which are made by NGK. Ac delco are good too.

P0171 System too Lean (Bank 1)
P0174 System too Lean (Bank 2)

Doesn't indicate a specific sensor. After reading a bit more, apparently these are only triggered by the downstream sensors though.
