Depends entirely on the car.

Cold air intake does not always mean better gas mileage.

Easiest way to save gas = drive slower.

Lol? Different vehicles are most efficient at different speeds. Some vehicles reach maximum efficiency at 60mph. Slower acceleration might be what you're talking about.

Lol thanks for all the input.

I drive a civic (already good on gas) 4dr

how much would exhaust cost (for better mpg)

I dont care much for performance, just trying to save money

Most of those bolt ons wont increase mpg's unless you go get it properly tuned after. All of the other things listed will cost less money and increase more mpg's than buying an exhaust.

thanks mate.

do you know anything about Ecoboost lol.
I never use it only because I feel like a fucking jackass and acceleration is so slow.
Is it worth it to keep it on or just leave it off?

Since the purpose of this thread is to provide better mpg, clearly you should know the answer to this question.

And guess what? Pressing that button to turn it on is free.

Also, spending ~$1,000 on an exhaust for +1/2 mpg is a silly idea.

A less restrictive intake can increase fuel economy but only in rare circumstances.

Cold air is denser. It will make more power. The computer reads intake air temp and factors it in to the fueling maps. To stay at the desired air/fuel ratio it will have to add more fuel to balance out the cooler, denser air. That makes more power, but uses more fuel.

You will never recover your investment.

Ignore the chucklehead recommending k&n. Oiled gauze filters are a thing of the past. Dry synthetics are much better. I run one on my diesel. Everything else has an OEM style paper filter. It filters far better and isnt a restriction in that setup.
