Looks like it wasnt leaking until it wast started. Don't you start a car to check for leaks? Hasn't every person that has done a cam swap or installed an engine done that?

I think trying to start it at all was a little bit idiotic. The thing went down a hole with dirt/debris everywhere, god only knows what COULD have gotten in where.
