Why not buy a real racecar and a trailer/truck?
Maybe buy a 991 GT3 they are pretty cheap for what you get now

Any of those choices are enough to be a "real race car"...

Porsche, because you are investing in something that notoriously will only increase in value over time; even if it is driven. Built 3.6l 964 all day.

Got to ride in this badass Tacoma last weekend... its got a V8 swap from a newer Tundra. Shit gets down.

Couple Build pics.. I have 2 vids but the quality sucks cuz I was trying to hang on to my camera phone while hitting whoops at 70+mph ;P

That thing looks like its working good!! Does he plan on racing it much?

I am very impressed with the fox shocks my buddy just put in the rear of this Tacoma.. The front needs a little work with the steering, etc. but the rear is butter already. Im uploading a quick vid of us hitting some whoops we will see how it turns out.

...I like how you go from suggestions for a Miata as a track-day car:

http://forums.d2jsp.org/topic.php?t=70118204&f=140

STRAIGHT to a ZR1. :P

Remember: your track day car WILL get beaten on. God forbid that you take it off track / wind up bending it.

Repairs on a Miata are gonna be a F?!KLOAD cheaper than fixing a bent-up ZR1. Just something to factor in to your decision making.
