Under 300whp AWD and RWD should be almost identical from a traction/acceleration department. With good tires RWD is the way to go until 850whp+ when talking about street cars.
if i really hold out for the AWD car i REALLY want id wait for the 2015 golf R
unless when i do go to get a new car..get a slightly used 335i sedan if its in my price range. rather have a 335i over most cars in that range..not a power based thing as much as it is looks, how they drive etc to me. driven quite a few of them
