Mistake #1) SR20

Why not just a 2J? or a VH? Or a RB25/26?

2jz and rb both make less power while being considerably more expensive and less reliable.

A VH after working a transmission and other shit around it would again be more expensive and less reliable.

I don't think it's so much the reliability as it is the torque.

LS engines have more low end torque and more consistent torque through out the power band.

Not to mention parts are easier and cheaper to find.

The reliability has a ton to do with it. The difference is worlds apart, and when you're driving like these guys do stuff likes to break. An ls motor will take so much more abuse its not even funny.

2JZ's are a bullet proof engine block, just not having to deal with turbos would save them a lot of headaches I'd imagine.

The block itself may be bullet proof... that's not what we are talking about

...you are making it sound like turbos are what makes a 2JZ not bullet proof

So whats your point lol. Its still as a whole going to be considerably less reliable than an ls motor.
