Dont be a pussy either when you wack it. Fucking hit it
If it works, drive it to a parts store ( DO NOT SHUT OFF ) and buy a new one. Commin from a guy that used to rebuild starters, wacking them fucks shit up bad on the inside and its just worth scrap. ( brushs, gears, all that shit pretty much gets destroyed, it was already needed a rebuild and now your riding on crutchs basically )Not only that you uually only get a few wacks before its done for good anyways

If you read some other threads we just have someone with a very similar problem. Turned out to be starter solenoid I believe.

There are few ways to test that btw... google ftw

I've been doing my own research for the past week (I'm not very good with cars) and I THINK it's the two copper plates inside the starter, I think they are worn out and need to be replaced

hey guys, so i have a crap car that I'm trying to make last through college, and it's been giving me trouble lately

I took my girlfriends dog out one morning for her, and when I hopped in my car to drive back to my apartment, the engine wouldn't turn over (which has happened a couple times in recent past, but usually after a few tries it starts up again)

But this time it has seemed to stop wanting to work at all

I have managed to get the engine to turn over a couple times through trial and error of turning the key in the ignition, but nothings starts up.

can anyone help me out? from what i've read, it could either be the ignition switch or solenoid switch or something like that

This leads me to believe the ignition switch at fault, that's where I would start.
