Are there no mounting kits for your car?
My double din fits nicely in the kit I got from crutchfield (or somewhere similar).
doesnt look 100% OEM but its a fairly clean fit and was cheap.

That plus a wiring harness and youre good to go.
You can get a decent deck for cheap, I paid $500 for mine on clearance but its moderately high end w/ nav and all that.

But none of that solves your problem (unless the problem is the head unit).
I would see if its possible to wire your subs amp to the head unit instead of splitting off of the speakers. Idk if the stock HU has an additional output but my aftermarket HU had a couple different options (RCA being the most convenient)

there are no mass produced dash kits for his model that i know of. the reason for this is because not only did saab make is a PAIN IN THE ASS with fiber optic wiring but also because saabs are unpopular cars for this type of stuff on top of that.

the fab work involved to make this work isn't all that intensive but lots of people are scared of doing fab work.

truthfully a LoC would of been fine for this as long as it gets installed correctly and not a junky model......but god knows if it was.

could be the LoC settings/connections/build quality, the amp ground, or bad speaker connections. thats why i dislike LoCs...they just add more variables to go wrong.

line out converter. the thing that lets you use speaker wires to run an amplifier.

ya about the only time you use one is if you have no other choice.

i'd rewire that entire car if it was mine before i resorted to using one lol.
