Diesel cruze if you have money to blow, eco if you dont. The payback for the diesel option is like 350k mi or something.

Our 2011 Cruze 2LT 1.4t/auto has 40k miles with no real issues. We had the trans program reflashed but that only effects the 11's. The adaptive shifting learns incorrectly and can cause hard shifts.

If you get a cruise get the 1.4t. It makes the same power as the 1.8 but the torque curve is flat from 3krpm to redline. It makes it drive like it has a bigger v6 in stop and go. The 1.8 N/A feels gutless.

Another note is the LTZ suspension is stiffer than the LT. There is no SS so they put the sport suspension on the luxury model... noticeably harsher ride.

if those are the only ones you are considering, I would go with the fusion

the cruze is a piece of shit

if I were buying a smaller car right now, It would probably be between a Mazda 3, a Nissan Altima or Acura TSX, Hyundai sonata, Honda accord,

honestly I would buy something non American.

unless they had a diesel motor option, which I think only Audi, VW, BMW and Mercedes have

how is the accord a smaller car lol it's full size :O
