Definitely good points, but I think we're still very early into the whole generation of electric cars and I think those are something that will hopefully be re-invented within the next 3 years. but yeah I feel like batteries as a whole could use some engineering... like smartphones need much better battery life imo... and I heard electric cars batteries need to be replaced every year and they are about $4000???? this true?

honestly instead of this battery powered stuff i'd much rather see hydrogen fuel cells get better.

i'm looking forward to them in the next 5 years or so because one or both of those techs will probably be incredibly good by then.

Are there any studies done for comparitive carbon footprints, between owning a standard fuel vehicle and an electric?  (Exhaust output + scrapping / recycling a standard car, vs. disposal of spent battery cores + scrapping / recycling an electric.)

I'm not all super granola hippie or anything, but I try to do my part.  (When I'm not grilling a cow on the BBQ, anyways.)
