Yeah thats why I want to flush everything and learn before I really learn to ride. I rode quads my whole life and I understand the clutch concept so i'll be fine with that.

Any tips or anything else I should flush/check before I start riding?

I'd go ahead and flush the radiator too if it's been sitting for 2 years. clean/get new plugs, fresh oil, etc. Like I said in fnr check that compression.

Yeah if I take all the plastics off and the gas tank the radiator should be easy to drain right?

Any suggestions on fluids to get?

i mean theres hoses just disconnect them and drain the radiator for the gas tank there is a fuel line that connects into the carb just remove that and it will drain all the gas

Pretty much bought a yz 125 the other day for 400 bucks. (1999)

It starts first kick and idles fine, the guy hadn't ran it for over 2 years so I assume I need to clean the carbs and change the gas/motor oil.

The one problem i'm having is it's stalling in first and IF i get it to start rolling and hold first it bogs down and dies if I give it any throttle. Could that just be because the carb needs to be cleaned?

He also said the throttle was "dragging" not sure how to fix or what the really means.

The main jet is clogged. It is running off the pilot. When you add throttle it is bogging on a lean condition from fuel starvation.

pull the carb clean everything
Check all the jets
put back together
If the air filter is a oil type make sure you oil it

I would change the crankcase oil and the engine coolant as well

How do I oil up the filter, im going to buy a new one as the old one was filthy.

Also where can I find a video on how to clean a carb like you're saying. I can't find a legit one anywhere.

Typically the new filter will come pre oiled. If not whatever you do read the instructions and DO NOT over do it on spraying the oil this will cause issues.

As far as cleaning I would try to find a parts diagram of the card to help you put it back together. They are all pretty basic.

You would disassemble the carb and use the appropriate torch cleaner in each jet to get rid of any debris then just soak the rest of the parts minus the gasket and hit it would a tooth brush, etc. to clean it off real good. Be careful not to bend the float setup.

Btw there are tons of videos out there it doesn't necessarily have to be your exact year make & model bike they are all very similar.
