Im not using my car as a reference im just statin unless i bought a lambo or something of significant value theres absoltely no point in getting an insurance hike + claims on the car for a mirror

Well, if he's cheap enough that he's thinking about getting insurance to pay for a mirror, chances are he opted for a higher deductible to get lower insurance rates. Chances are that deductible is more than the cost of a new mirror.
