change your timing belt if it hasn't already been changed and your drive belt along with it. like everyone said full synthetic oil regularly, spark plugs, air filter, brakes and tires if needed.

DO NOT FLUSH just change your tranny fluid. too much to explain on this but do a google search and you'll find out why

IAC is probably the cause of your issue, also you should go by your local autoparts store and run the scanner, hopefully you have a code for your specific issue.

Honestly if you can, get rid if the car if you have an auto transmission. These accords are notorious for bad transmissions.
