What I use on my black car:
Wash:
Meguiar's Gold Class Car Wash
Microfiber Wash Mitt
A good chamois
For the claying I've only used the Meguiar's Smooth Surface Clay kit
Meguiar's Ultimate Compound for scratches followed by some Ultimate Polish (I do this shit by hand, always been afraid to orbital buff my car after seeing and hearing many a horror story)
And for the waxing part I use either:
Zymol Carbon wax or Blackfire Wet Diamond, both are expensive but damn good (wax is all preference imo)
Essentially anything Meguiar's is usually pretty good stuff, all professional detailers have a personal preference for the products they use. Essentially you get the best results by taking your time and doing it right, not even the best product can make up for a half-assed job. Just get a Meguiar's kit, follow the instructions, take your time, and it will look pretty good...Good enough for a daily anyway, no point in making your daily a show car for a day...lol.
Get a DA buffer. Its 99% impossible to fuck your paint up with one of those. Meguiars sells a 4" DA head that attaches to a drill. Its cheap and works well. Its perfect if you dont want to blow $500 on a porter cable or Flex with pads. I think its $60 and they sell it at walmart.
I use meguiars gold class and a lambs wool mitt with the 2 bucket method. Meguiars clay bar, and adams polishes. I actually like meguiars tech wax 2.0 for a good polymer sealant wax. It lasts a long time and its cheap.
