I vote you get the vette but my opinion is totaly biased.

there are 2 minor problems i remember on the 05 vettes were some of the early targa roofs would actually separate and you had to park the 6 speeds in reverse to keep the battery from draining
and 1 huge one:
http://www.examiner.com/article/gm-recalls-2005-and-2006-corvettes. There was a problem with the Active Handling System that in rare instances would lock up and force the car to brake to one side.

But there's nothing like having and driving a vette.

Yeah sorry ^ those and along with some of the c5's and early c6 the steering column lock would fail and you would need to have it towed to the shop so they can fix it. but im sure its not with every 05. I'm just going off what the people at the corvette forum told me when i was looking for one they said either 02-04 or 07+ but again, i'm sure their expectations are a bit high.

I wouldn't get a new camaro with the new mustangs available. I wouldn't get a 2005 vette either, atleast get a 2006. They worked out alot of problems.

In the article there was a recall issued, he would just have to make sure it was done.

for sure, options options options. I love my HUD. One thing to check outside of the standard options package is the type of suspension/handing packages it has, theres the standard, F55 magnetic suspension which gives you a comfier ride (but is mad expensive if it breaks out of warranty) and Z51 which is more performance based.

I just went through a long process in February. I started out looking 05-6 but after researching and shopping around I ended up going with an 08 3LT Z51 with the NPP exhaust (which wasn't available in 05) so if you need any help on what to look out for, let me know.

I like the looks of the camaro SS better, but just make sure to test drive one... feels like driving a boat with how low you sit in the seat and the blind spots
