If you're set on this car, check a few things, bring a white cloth, wipe oil look for shards on both tranny and engine.
Do the tranny gear check (assuming its AUTO) make sure gears don't slip and the car goes to all gears. 1/2/3/D/
make sure you check intake / exhaust thoroughly (those are the main issues when people sell cars)
Check Muffler

The price is High in my opinion, like weed said for 8k you can find much better than a dodge,

You should be able to get one with way less miles for that price. Why would you want an avenger anyways? If you want a car like that just go buy a civic.

get the carfax and find out if it was a rental. if it was just a businessmans car that did a lot of highway driving then I'd say you're just fine and for 8600 I'd def get it. 86k highway miles = 43k regular miles imo

I've driven this car and the get up and go is okay in its class but what I really dislike is their handling/suspension...I just feel like it's really stiff and you have to actually try with effort to make turns...also at high speeds I don't feel too confident.

I've driven the new Corollas, Camrys, Accords, Sentras, Altimas, Jettas, Chargers, Siennas, Odysseys, and yknow what...I didn't like the Avenger too much. It's interior is pretty whack for how much it is. Good engine though.

Accord > Avenger in the FWD handling department.

(my answer may be biased because I drive a Honda though haha)

Sentra/Corolla is pretty good on the handling but you definitely feel the slowness...Altimas and Camrys are too big for my taste...power is whatever too.

Get an Accord!
