I don't want him jumping into something without getting some research into it. And your name, Cars and Kush, means you smoke weed therefore anything you say means nothing to me.

I'm not worried about the manual labor itself, he's an automotive genius to say the least. I'm more worried that he's going to regret it after buying it because from what I've seen and researched, low to mid 80 308's have been alot of headaches.

I'm actually an import guy myself. But like I said, I just don't want to see him jump into something and then regret it later.

So wait, just because people do drugs, their opinions don't matter? Maybe you should just try some yourself to get that stick out of your ass...

and any Ferrari in those years are going to be a pain... If you have any experience, you'd know that American or European cars of the 80s are a pain to put back together and are headaches...
From what I know, even if it is a headache and a pain in the ass it's worth the experience. Your dad sounds like a smart man from what you're telling me. Smart people don't look in the past too often, they look towards the future to see what other opportunities they can take advantage of. If something goes wrong, he'll find the next best thing that he sees and start on a different project.

A guy in my small town drives one as a daily driver.
Nice dude and when he came into my shop I asked him about it. Random lawyer who's had it for 10 years says he loves it and it's the best car he's ever had.

That's prolly just because it's his dream car or something but it's great looking and quick as shit. I personally like them.

I'm sure your dad wouldnt be dropping that kind of cash without knowing what he's doing.

If he's an automotive genius then he should have no worries.....in general really...

But, it's not for you to decide whether HE will enjoy, or possibly regret HIS purchase. I'm sure if he is willing to drop around 20-30 grand on a Ferrari, he has probably given it more thought than you have, as he has a VESTED interest to make sure the car isn't a Lemon. (considering he is working on it, AND fronting the bill)

Headaches come with the territory. And being that he builds cars himself, he already knows this, and I'm sure is assuming for some issues along the way.

If he truly knows what he is doing, he will make a well informed decision, based on his pre purchase inspection. He's taking all the right steps. Let him have some fun.

And I'll leave it with this...

Anything worth doing, NEVER comes easy.

I'm sure you're right. He's a smart man, and has probably thought long and hard about it before even bringing it up to me or my family. He actually asked me to fly to Connecticut with him next week to check it out with him when I was over at my parents' place for Mothers day. So we'll see how everything goes once we get there.
