No radar detection available to the public will save you from a ticket. You either speed and take the risk or drive the speed limit and know you arent getting a speeding ticket. back in my criminal Justice class, our road-track day we put this theory to the test. We had kids with $800+ "jammers" that would have had speeding tickets.

Incorrect.

Radar detectors are not 100% going to save you from a ticket. Nor will it save you from when a cop flips his radar on as you approach. (Obviously not speeding is the only full proof way). But a detector can help identify if a cop is ahead when/if you can't see them.

waste of money
or
worth while investment

for a daily ~30-45 minute drive all highway
beltronics 955 150~175$

Its honestly a waste imo. It gives you an illusion that you are safe.
I have had friends get them, and receive more tickets than what they did without one..

Even buying something nice, won't prevent 100% of tickets.. If you are going to speed, then you have to do it smart. Know where hiding spots are, know how to detect Unmarked's.
Too many people buy these and think it just prevents tickets from happening. Oh its beeping? Might want to hit my breaks. Doesn't work like that.

yeah maybe if you buy a cheap piece of shit. I get the feeling you've never used or been around a decent radar detector, ie valetine or passport

If you don't jew out you can actually get a quality detector that can distinguish the difference between the police and a store security sensors, and let you know about speed traps, etc
