One of the things that got me a deal on a car was if you're looking online keep an eye on the cars that interest you and bookmark them. I bookmarked several potential candidates and kept checking them out every few days to see if they were still available/price drops. If it drops to within your range give a call/go see it. I got my car OTD @ 20k when it was listed for 25 only because the thing had been sitting on the lot for a few months. It wasn't far away so I took a ride on a Saturday, test drove it, and did what was mentioned previously. Gave them a number and walked. I got the call-back 3 days later. Honestly the best time to buy a car is when you can't be grabbed by the balls aka upgrading from a beater, because you can walk out of as many dealerships as you want until you get the deal you want.
