Mazda3 is a reliable car for the price range. A frined of mine has an 05 that he's hit a deer with, crashed into a guardrail and beat to hell well over 100k miles and it still runs like a champ (his insurance paid for some serious body work after the 2nd accident of course). Its just not a "performance car" and throwing money at it to bump it up from 150 to 165 hp is a waste of money.

You gotta figure out what kind of car you want, reliable daily driver thats good on gas? luxury car? performance sports car? a car that looks sporty but doesn't necessarily have power, it just looks cool?

that is all he should be looking for, unless he has money to sink into it and i don't mean unnecessary mods.

I will, I plan to change cars when I find a good job after college. So I will defiantly do my best to keep it intact for 5+ years



Ill probably stay away from performance stuff then.
How is the Mazda3 as a daily reliable car that's good on gas and if not, what is there that is better?

My 3 hit 100k And no problems whatsoever: )

just usual maintenance.

At op, go for the 08, not the 07.

I average 24mpg all the time.


Hopefully they release the gen3 speed 3 next year so I can buy It.

Yeah I was going going To state that. If your Max is 10k get a reliable car, and then Save up for something performance.

For my 3 I just do small commercial things that can be reversed if needed. Then when I save up enough, I will buy a car meant for performance.
