ANd a scanner would throw a code that is telling me its a bad wire? and if it is a fuel system problem how easy is the fix for that? and costly?

The only code that would pop up from time to time was a random misfire. Doesnt exactly narrow it down much lol

So the aftermarket ECU that the person prior to me put in is throwing off scanners and I cannot get codes of it... Would installing the stock ecu to get codes and than reinstall the aftermarket one cause problems with timing and shit? The check engine light thing hasnt came up for a long time. But my Air fuel sensor is running lean, But the engine doesn't feel any more hot that usual except when I turn off my car there is a loud ping in my exhaust vs the average ticking of it coolin down.

it can run on the obdii ecu if u want to put it in. idk how modded ur car is but if its boosted on a higher psi I wouldn't recommend driving it on the obdii ecu. unless ur car is just street tuned? then you'd be fine.

if its an aftermarket ecu itll be obd1 not 2 did u just get a obd2 code reader? idk if theres a difference honestly only ever had a obd2 car but would guess you would need a ob1 code reader

Yeah its an OBD-I Aftermarket. My car isn't boosted its just got lot of shit in the engine only thing its missing is that actually. And my ECU is all tuned to fit all of that. So i'm not sure, I tried my cheap scanner and I took it to two different garages and they couldnt get it and they "had no idea why" so I would figure there scanner would work or they would know why it didnt if it was just because it was a I

its got just boltons? if so youll be fine to put in your obd2 ecu and figure out the codes if u want.

does it have big injectors?? youll run rich as fuck if u do the ecu correct itself.

What led you to that? Was there a fault code for it?
