Did you take yours off and look at it? The same thing happened to me and I noticed some of the connections just needed re-soldered. Took about 2 minutes and it was fixed. Worth a try

i honestly would rather not get that part at a salvage yard being a small circuit board like that. looks like thats where its going to end up being though. gotta think you wont know if the board is good or not until you put it in. also not sure if thats what my whole problem is.

digital multimeter is your friend.

Yes. that was first thing i done. I heated up all soldered spots and remelted them. I know a hairline crack can make one stop.

in my experience most of them know how to yank a motor and tranny pretty quickly...thats pretty much the only skills i rely on at salvage yards lol.

hell anyone with a forklift and cutting torches can remove the drivetrain as easily as a junkyard lol. they arent doing anything special

Not sure what year your truck is, looked up a 1998 on rockauto and they do carry this part.

Check with your correct year and options. there's a good chance they will have this. Rockauto is like walmart for carparts.

pretty easy solution is to call your local chevy dealerships parts depot and ask them what the part is called or what the OE part number is....there is always replacement parts available, especially for chevys, EVERYONE makes replacement parts for chevys'....
