Yeah; that tail-end is pretty blah.  Still, it's an amazing feat of engineering; I'd drive one.  Something, something, carbon footprint.

its really not that amazing of an engineering feat. it seats 2 and it doesn't look to have amazing storage capacity. not to mention it is extremely slow.

if you want an engineering feat, its the peugeot hybrid air car.

Hmm...

*goes to Google*

Interesting. It's definitely clever; my only concern would be the pressurized tanks. Hope they don't suffer from the same problems as the infamous '70s Pintos. ;)

One episode of Top Gear features Clarkson in USA talking to local petrol-head about e-cars, and the man gave him the best answer I've ever heard concerning e-cars: "I actually like them and support the idea, then you'd have all the "normal" drivers going on electricity, leaving ALL the petrol to us!"

You buy Peugeot hybrid one day and it's gas/electric powered, second day it's hybrid men/roadside-assistance powered.

its definitely not attractive but its essential to aerodynamics. and if you are shooting for high mpg then ugly is probably going to be your cars name.

im kind of intrigued by the .8L diesel engine

the veyron is an example they need to work off of...make it ugly...but somehow good looking.

that also has a v12 engine and they arent worried about mpg

W16 not V12

both are worried about aerodynamics equaly, one for top speed other for mpg

if anything an econobox has even more freedom in design because it doesn't need the insane downforce a veyron needs.

true about downforce, but they need to reduce the drag to minimum to get 250+ mpg or 250+ mph, so both car's design is heavily dependant on the aerodynamics.
