Another interesting thought.

How long have you been boosting the motor? There is a slight possibility that when under boost your head studs may be stretching and your head may "lift" causing air in the cooling system forcing your thermostat to close, which could be the source of ALL of your problems.

Try this- Turn your heater on full hot and boost the car up til you see the temps rise. Is the hot air coming out of the heater still hot when the temps are rising like that while you are under boost? If the air is cold, then you know coolant has stopped circulating and then you need to replace the head bolts with ARP fasteners and replace the head gasket. Have the head checked for warpage as well.

Alright, went out today got into it hard for about 2-3 minutes of pure abuse, it started to climb to (H) so let down off of it. The heater just blew hotter under more of an load. I pulled the valve cover, checked the torque on all the headstuds and they are normal. Pulled them out check the threading and the threading is normal. Replaced them after slightly oiling them for easier installation.

How did you replace the head bolts? What order did you reinstall them in? Is this the first time you've pulled the studs since the rebuild?

From my experience, any time you pull the head bolts out, without pulling the head and replacing the gasket, you are asking for cooling problems, mainly leaks.

It may break the original seal, and there's even a chance you could block one of the coolant passages if the gasket shifted any. But the latter is less common.

That aside. I'd start dialing back timing a little, and see if that has anything to do with it.

Also, invest in some of this.

Well worth the 15 bucks, and for any boosted application, you'd want all the help you can get.

Na, pulled the head a few times and everytime I check the headgasket and replace it with a back-up. Ordered a new triple layer cometic hg today that will be in tomorrow and I'm going to pull the head once more this time replacing the bolts with my new arp headstuds. I'll invest into some of the MoCool seen it a'lot but never purchased it.

Problem was simple and overlooked numerous times. Water pump would work properly under normal driving and light boost, but on a heavy load it would free spin it was pulling so hard, replaced with a high performance pump and replaced lower rad hose with a spring in it runs like a dream. Thanks Andy you have been a lot of help and almost saved me from selling off a car for less then 4x the amount it is worth >< :D <3
