I do agree that is sounds like the vehicle is going into Limp mode.

But, you're not looking for THAT answer, you're looking for the reason WHY it goes into limp mode.

Which could be your alternator beginning to fail, causing a low voltage situation. It may even spike the voltage, causing the ECU to "freak out" and go into safe mode.

Since you said the battery light came one, and you've had confirmation that the battery had died in the past, I'd start there, once you reset the computer like Sly said.

It sounds an awful lot to me like your alternator's internal voltage regulator is beginning to fail, which can also lead to a drain in voltage, resulting in a very dead battery.

Check your battery voltage...This is a VERY commonly overlooked way to diagnose a problem, such as yours.

but my battery isn't draining, every time it did it i could start the car without a problem, that's the part i don't understand. Battery never seemed to die out.
Also how do i check my battery voltage if i don't have a gauge for it?

You don't have a multimeter at all? See if you can borrow a friends.

Hook it up to your battery with the engine off and it should read around 12.2 volts. Do the same test with the engine on and it should read around 14.4 volts.

I'd give you guidelines with how to check if your alternator is putting out the right amount of amperage but I highly doubt you have an ammeter capable of measuring that kind of amperage.

sadly i do not have one here, my dad has one back home but that's 4 hours away from where i currently live.
I doubt that any of my friends have one here, might have to bring it to a mechanics to get it checked :/
Thanks for the help btw, appreciate it.

No worries, we're all here to help man.

Your best bet would be to reset the ECU and if it happens again, time to bring it to another shop

Will try that once the temperature gets better outside.
