I prefer the Cherokee to the Wrangler. Not really sure why... it just suits me better. I've owned two of them, an 85, and a 94. The 85 was a piece... 2.8L V6, but the tcase was pretty stout. The 94 was one of the best vehicles I've ever owned. 4.0 HO straight 6, 4wd, well maintained interior... it was all around win. I didn't have it lifted, but I never got it stuck. I did, however, drag the muffler off on a downed tree in the woods

I was looking to upgrade the exhaust anyway though... so still win

I guess when I think of a jeep, the Wrangler is what automatically pops into mind, but I must say, I do like the Cherokee thus far. This one one is 4.0 straight six, which I've read can last forever. The interior wasn't great, but I worked on that myself (as from earlier pictures), and it does have a 2-4" lift on it already I believe. It needs a whole new exhaust as there are holes in it like everywhere, but I will be taking care of that in March I believe. I have yet to take it offroading as I am making sure everything is holding together well, but I am looking forward to camping season this year.

That's the same motor that came in the Wranglers too. Sports, like mine, or Rubicons. 4.0 Straight 6 is pretty much infallible.
I have driven those motors to upwards of 275,000 miles, then of course, like Jeeps do, the frame broke

I didn't know much about them to be honest. This whole thing is a learning experience for me. Iit is my second vehicle, but I learned a shit ton about vehicles from my first POS car since we change like the majority of the parts in it - including a full replacement of the engine - I still don't know a lot like people who deal with this stuff all the time, but I have a pretty good working knowledge when it comes to knowing what I'm looking at under the hood.
But, my brother who knows a lot more than I do came with me to look the jeep over, and he said it could last for a really long time as it is the 4.0 Straight 6, and that is why I know have it (something reliable, cheap, cheap to fix if something doe go wrong, easy to work on, and fun to drive and modify). I'm hoping the frame will be in good shape - that is the nice thing about living in Arizona, you usually don't have to worry about snow, ice and salt to make it rust away, and so far, I couldn't see a bit of rust on it, which make me hope it can a very long life.
