my dad is coming out tomorrow to help me change it..

we called up autozone and asked if they had any altenaters for a 1991 cutlass calais 4 cyclinder.. 2.3 whatever..and they said they have 2 brands in the store and 1 we would have to order

the first one cost 52$

the second cost around 100$

and they said another fee for core charge or something?

will the 52$ one be fine or..? lol wuts the difference?

amperage output and/or quality will be the difference.

no reason to spend more than you have to because that car is old as hell.

might call salvage yards in your area and ask as well.

52$ for an alternator sound pretty good to me. where you live i actually have one for a quad four engine haha mine was a 2.4 tough, chances are its the same part number

The 52 dollar one should be fine. The core charge is a charge they apply until you bring the old alternator back. They rebuild it and resell it. usually 10 dollars or so.

Might want to replace your belt(s) while you have it off if you have some extra money.

dad got 2/3 bolts off + belt

couldnt get bottom bolt off bc impossible to see/impossible to get to

gotta bring it to a mechanic across the street..

hopefully he will get it done by tomorrow or shit not gonna be good..

and better not cost more than 200$ TOPS :V

might have to get a new car = no computer for who knows how long

any one give me a estimate how much it will cost to get altenator changed if only 1 bolt left attached + new altenator is in the trunk? :V

1 hour labor tops, even if hes an ass

this, it wont be to expensive, its just a bolt, put new alternator on, re belt it and call it good
