If miatas are lapping good times with 400 HP turbo setups, why are they suddenly going to get slower with a V8 setup?
You will definitely need to be smart with the gas pedal but you also have a much better power band to work with.

Yep, its part of one of the challenges where you get like $2012 (since its 2012 this year) to build a racecar. I have seen the MG and Miata in person and they are sick.

I had to do some work for my senior project in the same shop they do the motorsports stuff so I saw it all up close. I really wish I had gotten involved during my time at Tech. They have some awesome projects and great resources (equipment).
