Id buy one pretty quick if there was an LS1 option that maintained the handling.

I dont think the pricing is that different. And if they dropped a 350HP LS1 into it, it would more than likely put both of our cars to shame.
Just look as the LS Miatas that are taking down much, much higher end cars and still handling like beasts.

It doesn't take much to put a 4.6 s197 to shame lol, Regardless, the FRS is built around an essentially powerless engine, putting a v8 model into production would take alot more than just cramming in a new motor.

Miatas don't take much at all and respond great to the change. I don't know what a boxer weighs but the i4 in miatas isn't much lighter than an ls1. The entire swap adds 200 lbs and that is spread between the rear end and tranny too so it's still almost evenly balanced.

The 4.6 in the 2005+ mustangs can put out ~500 hp on stock internals and the 5.0 that epic has isn't too far from that stock.

What it can make on stock internals is a moot point. A 5.3L lsx would double that. Its still only 315hp stock.
