A thousand times more entertaining.... for me anyway. Handicap or not... that bike should let the guy do insane shit with the engine. Not to mention it has suspension... idc how much it weighs, I don't think the guy is pushing it hard enough. I mean.. you see the guys on crotch rockets do some absolutely crazy stuff. I probably couldn't do any of this, but I'd rather watch the guy on the pedal bike. Just my opinion.

Agreed. No real element of danger... and not really an improvement over what they do with the regular bikes. If hes using a engine, he should be able to do things they can't without one.
Probably why it isn't popular in America.... Not really marketable, and kind of "same old, same old".

The bike does look pretty cool though.

Not to be a dick but did you even watch the video :wallbash:

Lol you nay sayers have no idea... all of the good trials riders cross train on trials bicycles.  Don't think of the engine as help, think of the extra 150lbs as a handicap.  Its more difficult than you can understand unless you've ridden one.

Toni has won the last 6 FIM world outdoor championships.  That's like an F1 driver winning 6 in a row. Same level of competition.

Video doesn't do any of it justice.  Most of you would end up in the hospital trying to do anything in that video on flat ground, much less on a rock.  Its plenty dangerous, just not as deadly.

We didn't say that we could do better..... There are simply better videos out there.

That is the best trials rider in the world bar none. It may not ne his best video.

Its like motocross... the better you are the smoother you ride and the easier it looks.

i've always wanted to try trial bikes since i started out skateboard/bmx. only thing is it looks like there would be a shit ton of injuries learning so i was like..no thanks lol.

seems like the first time i tried to do one of those gaps i'd almost certainly end up in the hospital

After watching the video again you guys are clueless. It looks easy because you don't understand it. Go balance an 8 lb trials bicycle on the back tire and hop around. Now do the same thing on a 140lb motorcycle with moving parts. While you are at it, hop up on a rock, stay on the back tire, do a 360° turn and vault across a gap onto another rock all without putting your feet down.

Good luck.

Now stay on the back tire and drop sideways down a hill from small rock to small rock without dropping the front end to keep from crashing.

Good luck. It's not a pogo stick. It's still a motorcycle. That's a CRF250R engine.

I'll admit the second video is alot better than the first, but neither wow me. I'm not doubting the level of difficulty. Nor am I doubting the rider's skill level.

I'll try to explain what I'm saying thoroughly.....
The guys who do it with pedal bikes... they do some amazing stuff. I know the reason they're able: Much lighter bike, brakes work better (also because lighter), Less moving parts, etc...
They're able to use the bike as an extension of their own body. It looks more fluid, and badass because of that.
When I think of motorbikes.. I think extreme air, fast corners, and getting sideways in the dirt.

All in all... I suppose it is a fledgling sport. For one, it seems like the bike... or some components of it, aren't really decidedly built around what they're trying to do with it.
The fact that he can do what he does makes it that much more impressive to think about. But still, for me, the entertainment factor is lacking.
