@ BlueAndWhite - Are you talking about the hydraulic (brake fluid) line or transmission fluid?
I have been looking at symptoms of bad master cylinders and feel like it could be this as well. How possible is it to replace a master cylinder in a garage?
im talking about the hydraulic clutch line ( also dot fluid like brakes) when you push on your clutch pedal you push you master cylinder witch pumps hydraulic fluid all the way to the slave cylinder.
that slave cylinder will push against your clutch fork, thus disengaging the clutch and then re-engaging the clutch when you release your foot from the pedal. if you have air in your clutch line, it would be as if you never push the clutch in.
as you said when at a stop you cant engage the first gear, then you have a hard time shifting the other gears. try driving without the clutch you will get the same symptoms
the fix to this would be bleeding the clutch line, but before bleeding the line you have to know why you have air in it, it could be lots of stuff (slave/master/worn banjo bolt/etc, nothing to costly and not to hard to do
