Thanks for all the actual advice fellas. Do energy drinks really have much effect? I used to drink them and never really noticed any effects.

dat 5 hour energy. no need to drown yourself in sugar to stay awake.

keep the interior temperature uncomfortable either too hot or too cold.

music up loud

try not to be too focused on "just driving" and keep it more like a sight seeing trip.

I can't take stuff like that without it being proscribed to me. Thanks though.

the times you are going to be driving are the hardest because its your bodies natural tendency to want to go to sleep and rest. i drive for a living and have done all nighters before and energy drinks and 5 hour energy did very little for me. i dont smoke but like bruin said smoking a cigarette or taking a dip (snus pouches) really kind of helps me out. it gives you something to do. also the radio may/may not help you. sometimes it seems like its probably lulling me to sleep more than anything. a power nap is one of the best things to do. if you are tired enough you are starting to fall asleep at the wheel, please pull over and take a 10-15 minute nap. you can fall asleep and not even realize it very very easily.

dont act like its cool to keep pushing on if you cant stay awake or your family might be coming to your funeral next.

also 5 hour energy tastes like someone vomited in a bottle and sold it out of a store.

Yea pretty much, I drive 12-14 hours a day, I keep a tin of skoal in the console just in case i start getting lazy.

The toxins wake me up or something lol. Likely just having something irregular going on is what keeps your brain occupied.

My friend used to use books on cd and stuff like that, as long as it's an exciting one.

Skoal keeps you fellas awake? I need something stronger than skoal.... well maybe not stronger, but harsher.
Enter; The Wolf.
Timberwolf mint is some of the nastiest shit on the face of the earth. Your lip will bleed, and you will taste this stuff for days.

Bruin and JDH have some solid advice though. Sugar = crash. Basically unless you want to drink like 15 cans of red bull or Monster Energy drinks, just skip them entirely. Trust me... I freaking LOVE Monster Energy. I would drink 15 cans even if I wasn't the one driving.
If you don't keep it going though, you will wind down.... and with the sugar filled energy drinks it happens in a matter of minutes.

Nuts help. Nuts have loads of energy in them. Almonds are your best bet. Stay away from breads, or chips, etc. No dairy.
