Yea, people don't like to read in this forum, Pat, you know this by now lol.
Grats on the first oil change. No metal in it I hope?

Nope. Oil still looked new. Who ever decided to put the fill nozzle over the manifold should be slapped tho.

unless you're driving 3k+ miles per month that's a great way to fuck up your engine and an enormous waste of money.

and choose your oil better.

if you look at some real post change tests and some non-RP R&D data on their oil, you'd know that it has a tendancy to run thin at high temps and can actually be attributed to premature engine failure.

run a better synthetic. do some research. most synthetics out there are just snake oil that do more harm than good. RP is one of the worst offenders of this, and it costs a fucking arm and a leg to be changing it every month.

depends where you buy it. i've heard good and bad. sounds fishy but my parts store guy tells me that the mobil1 that ends up in stores like walmart is horseshit.

castrol syntec is a good daily synthetic.

royal purple is no better the conventional oil, and you are not in an application that needs any specific special oil.

if you needed a performance oil, with more zinc or a lighter weight i still would tell you not to use royal purple, its junk
