I'm thinking of buying a stock YJ and lifting the body 2" to put on some 31/10.5's. It seems to be in perfect working condition, but if anyone out there owns a yj and has an info on some hidden problems I should be looking for let me know.

It's a 1994/130,000 miles.

I had a 92 like 8 or 9 years ago.

Whats in it 2.5 or 4.0?
You don't want the 4 cylinder. The inline 6 are fun if its a stick.

It's a 2.5 4 banger. I don't mind the loss of power as I probably won't mud at all in it. Honestly...i kind of want something I can just play around on.

/e all show no go.....probably.

is it such a great deal you can't pass it up? If not look for the bigger engine you'll always appreciate having that get up, never jump into a purchase without really thinking about it, I seem to always make that mistake and end up with cars I don't keep long.

its even a worse choice for that. no better fuel efficiency, sounds ricey if you try to put an exhaust on it, will get smoked by a a prius in a drag race and have a hell of a time on the highway.

its a pretty good price. Jeeps don't fluctuate in value as most other vehicles do.

Don't care about any of that minus the highway point. I've driven 4 cylinder vehicles and I agree that it's kind of a pain in the ass on the highway. That being said, it's really not a huge issue.

the difference is this is a 4 cylinder on 31 inch tires. like a steep hill may present you with a challenge or trying to hit 70mph may just explode the motor lol.

its not worth the hassle at all unless you are just cruising town or using it for light offroading.

Solid point. I hadn't considered that larger than stock tires would make a 4cyl's lack of power even more noticeable. I would likely use it to just cruise town, but where I live the go to speed limit is like 55mph, so it's kind of all highway driving.

Thanks

55 shouldn't be bad. when i think highway i think minimum 65mph.

you should be fine just don't get too crazy with the tire size.

Ive driven the i4 and owned a i6 .. the i4s are not enjoyable to drive at all, and the fuel milage is the same.
i4 in a car and i4 in a lunch box on wheels are different also, even wind blowing against you will slow you down
