He probably means they're not as good cars as they used to be. Which is partially true, comparatively speaking. Bmers of old were drivers cars. Now they're mass market luxury.

Still nice, but you got to spend real money to get a real nice one.

i was looking at 328i's used 2013-2015~ with M sport in Estroli Blue
any opinions on that and estimated maintenence ? one of them is only like 28k miles warranty up to 50k . not sure how warranty works and how much u save by still having warranty

either buy a new one with warranty (and sell when it ends) or forget about them, not worth it unless you like being milked by certified workshops and horrible part prices

What's your budget, how long do you plan on keeping it, and how much are you willing to spend on matinence?

Warranty covers manufacturers defect, so something breaking that isn't due to wear and tear. Things like brakes, filters, spark plugs, oil changes, brakes, tires, that's not covered under warranty. Genuine BMW parts are expensive, and BMW dealerships don't exactly have a cheap labour rate. But if you're buying a nearly new BMW you don't want to put cheap, really crappy parts in it and knockoff OEM isn't that cheap either. The good thing is anybody could do the brakes, etc., on your BMW, so you don't have to worry abou finding a shop that's cheaper than BMW that knows what they're doing. At least untill you're out of warranty.

Honestly, if you're not someone who is willing or able to afford maintenance, either don't buy a BMW or find one with as much as possible miles before the warranty is up. Buying a car isn't just about how much the car costs, it's how much it'll cost to operate. I know people who could easily afford the payments on a $100,000 car, but they can't or won't pay the operation costs.
