ok so im looking for a torque wrench for small motors at the house

at the shop i use snap on torque wrenches and they are great but i can't see buying some for home use..

my question is anyone ever mess with Harbor freight, Northern tool, or kobalt torque wrenches? in 3/8s or 1/4 would like to get a GOOD cheap one but don't want to waste money on a piece of shit

I have kobalt 1/2" and 3/8" that seem to work well. I use them on less critical stuff. I've double checked the 1/2 against my MAC and it's off by 2lb/ft at 100lb/ft

I have a craftsman one that has stayed true every time we tested it against the snap on I always respect my torque wrenches though always unloaded and properly stored

But maybe give them a run

well the most ive also done with it is cylinder heads, not like im running 150ftlbs through it ever use either

Id probably just go get the gearwrench, everything ive ever had through them has been quality,we had a 3/8 and a 1/2 drive gear wrench that we used 90% of the time, snap ons were only for when those werent calibrated correctly

And im sure u have a truck that comes by ur shop from time to time

ive got a 1/2 inch harbor freight thats always unloaded and stored correctly, tested it vs the mac tools ones we use at the shop and it was dead nuts at 83 ft LBS which is basically all i sue ir for, tightening lug nuts to proper torques around that pressure. lol
