"Hey Andy, can you take a look at the Gullwi-"

"YUP!!!!!!!!!"

*runs upstairs*

The Gullwing isn't running right, and with a specialist flying in on Friday to take a look, the owner wanted me to run a few tests to relay certain information to the expert, Ulbricht.

So needless to say, today was a great day.

My office.

I spent most of the morning reading through service manuals/tech sheets and various literature, familiarizing myself with the fuel injection system. What a freakin' trip; This car is crazy. It's practically a diesel!

I snapped some potato pictures of one of the shorter booklets for those who may care to attempt to read. Apologies for the quality.

The car stumbles under partial throttle, and almost refuses to idle at times, as if it is fuel starved - Which could indicate a problem, potentially, with the injection pump. So I reset the timing, to eliminate that variable, and after some fiddling I got it to run.... better... The idle improved, less hesitation, but, after a few exhaustive (Grueling I tell you. Grueling!) test drives .. it still isn't right..

Teaser. Impromptu GoPro test.

Time to call in the big guns. C'mon Ulbricht!

We spoke a couple times on the phone. Usually I can get behind any car guy with a thick German accent telling me "Eet should idle at zeround wun taosind". This certainly, was no exception :D

I can't wait to shadow him...and figure out what the hell is wrong.

I love learning about this car!
