I've been having this weird noise recently,

pretty sure I need to replace my rotors, (57.5k miles on em)

Car is a 2010 wrx, all stock

I can describe the noise as a clunk, when releasing the brake pedal...

Ill try and search google to find more info, figured I'd throw it here too

thx

run your finger through the rotor. if there's a big lip on top then yes replace the rotor. You could just have build up in the brake pads, so pop em off and check

So last night I removed the caliper on both front wheels

removed the pads, inspected em, cleaned and lubed the shims

removed the top and bottom slide pins , the bottom one were kinda seized, thanks to that new rubber boot I replaced..so I removed it on both sides.

Now the caliper slides nice..

But today I went to work, all was fine and I was very happy

until I hit the highway, after like 10 minutes, I had to press the brakes moderately

and the brakes started making noise again...Like if the pistons werent working properly at high temps

cause city driving, it all works fine.

wtf

yo are you tightening your lug nuts all the way?

sounds like you are getting on the road and its loosening them cause they arent tightented all the way

then your wheels start chattering
