Allready posted in my VW forum but just waiting for a reply.

I got the new motor swapped in and everything but deciding how to use the harness..

Use the MK 1 harness and use a separate for the motor? or just go with a much longer process and go with a new harness?

Looking for someone who has actually done this swap. Doubt any1 can help me here but its worth a shot until I get an answer back from the other forum.

well what kinda path are you taking? power or cruiser daily type.

power wise you are in a great spot to invest in an aftermarket engine management system. they are simple, clean and to the point if building for that.
my ABA turbo swapped mk2 gti is running an SDS engine harness with the stock interior relay box and wires. works great and tuning has few limits.

but for the OEM+ daily route, you would be best off finding a donor car (12/24valve, you didnt say lol) and doing the work of pulling the harness, taking what u want to keep and running it all

from experience splitting harness up and splicing into them and all that shit is a nightmare

if they make a harness for your swap... its worth the money, unless its stupid expencive

I'm going to keep stock harness and just wire in a separate for the motor.

ill look it up tonight, but KoJ reminded me of something. i think BFi or some company makes a mk1 - vr6 harness swap. is yours a 12 or 24valve?
